Bengaluru, April 02, 2026 : The Karnataka State Armwrestling Association (KSAA) proudly announces the successful hosting of the ​6th Karnataka State Armwrestling Championship 2026, recently held at Nexus Mall, Koramangala.

​Strength met spirit at the championship with support and sponsorship from Hercules from The House of Khodays.The championship showcased over 150 elite armwrestlers from across Karnataka, all vying for top honors and a chance to qualify for the prestigious All India National Championships set for June 2026. This event is crucial in identifying and nurturing local talent, with winners being given the opportunity to represent Karnataka on a national platform. Successful competitors at the national level will then have the chance to represent India at the World Armwrestling Championship 2026 in Japan, under the auspices of the International Armwrestling Federation. India has a proud history of strong performances in international competitions, evidenced by the impressive haul of three gold and two bronze medals at the 2025 World Championship held in Azerbaijan.

The championship was graced by the presence of key office bearers of KSAA, including President Mr. Ujjwal Mukhia, Vice President Mr. Vimal Gopinath, General Secretary Mr. Rakesh Meghani, Board Member Mr. Vijay Mane, Board Advisor Mr. MH Abid, and Team Captain Mr. Girish V Kumar.​ Senior Executive of The House of Khodays were also present and gave away the awards.

The Abu Dhabi Masters Games, organized by the International Master Games Association, brought together over 25,000 athletes from around the world competing across 33 disciplines. The event was held at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club.

Meer competed in the clay pigeon skeet shotgun shooting category, facing strong competition from international shooters. Despite a recent injury, he delivered an impressive performance to clinch the silver medal for India.

Speaking after the event, Hammad revealed that he had suffered a minor accident just before the competition, which injured his leg and resulted in a fractured finger. “If I had been fully fit, I would have definitely won the gold medal,” he said.

Hammad has been actively competing since 2014 and has qualified and won several medals in  pre-national, national, and open international championships. Recently, he also won a silver medal at the 68th National Shooting Championship, earning the title of National Champion and securing National Rank 2 in the Skeet Master category.

His latest achievement at the International Masters Games further strengthens his reputation as one of India’s prominent shooters in the master category.

The tournament witnessed the participation of 32 teams from every corner of the country, ranging from Jammu to Kerala and reaching as far as the Andaman & Nicobar and Lakshadweep Islands. This expansive reach provided a prestigious platform for over 500 players, empowering emerging cricketers and establishing the ISCL not merely as a league, but as a national movement for the growth of the sport.

To ensure the action reached fans across the country, the league secured strong national visibility through live coverage on DD Sports and digital streaming on the Waves OTT platform. This extensive broadcast reach was instrumental in elevating the stature and credibility of the league in its debut year.

The Road to Glory: A Dramatic Championship Battle

The competitive intensity of the league reached its zenith during the high-stakes final clashes. In a standout semi-final encounter that echoed the pressure of the championship, Punjab faced off against a formidable Uttar Pradesh side led by former IPL player Kamran Khan.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Uttar Pradesh Blue posted a competitive total of 104/6 in just 9 overs, driven by disciplined batting and fearless intent. Punjab’s response was a masterclass in composure. Despite losing early wickets, the chase culminated in a final-over thriller. It was Rakesh Tampar who emerged as the hero, delivering a stunning match-winning cameo that guided Punjab to a dramatic last-ball victory with a total of 108/6. This victory sealed Punjab’s legacy as the first-ever Champions of ISCL Season 1.

While collective spirit drove the teams, the league also served as a stage for remarkable individual brilliance. Three standout performers were recognized for setting new benchmarks in skill and consistency:

Man of the League – Abdul Rehman (Punjab): The most influential player of the season, Rehman’s all-round mastery with both bat and ball was the engine behind Punjab’s success. His match awareness and ability to perform under extreme pressure earned him the league’s highest individual honor.

Best Batsman of the Tournament – Shatanu Das (Odisha): Showcasing sheer class and technical soundness, Das anchored the Odisha innings with precision. His ability to accelerate at will made him the most feared run-scorer of the season.

Best Bowler of the Tournament – Manthan Ram (Rajasthan): Representing Rajasthan, Ram was the season’s most lethal force with the ball. His spells were characterized by accuracy and relentless pressure, consistently breaking crucial partnerships to earn his title.

Pune : The SRTL Ultra Marathon, organised amid the historic forts of Sinhagad–Rajgad–Torana–Lingana (SRTL), bearing witness to the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, concluded successfully. This year marked the eighth edition of the international-standard event. In the 100 km men’s category, Vishal Valvi of Palghar clinched the title with a new record time of 10 hours 09 minutes 40 seconds, while Rakhi Rai secured first place in the women’s category with a record-breaking performance. Last year’s 100 km men’s champion Hemant Limbu finished second this year. Runners from India and abroad delivered impressive performances across various distance categories, further raising the stature of the race.

Held annually along an ancient route starting from the foothills of Sinhagad and passing through Rajgad and Torana to the foothills of Lingana, the marathon witnessed participation from athletes representing nine countries—India, France, England, the United States, South Korea, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Norway and Estonia. More than 950 runners from 24 Indian states and 55 cities took part. The competition was conducted across four distance categories: 100 km, 53 km, 25 km and 11 km.

In the 100 km women’s category, Rakhi Rai finished first in 18 hours 54 minutes 37 seconds, followed by Snehal Yogita in second place with 19 hours 39 minutes 55 seconds, and Hema Awale in third with 23 hours 23 minutes 48 seconds. In the 53 km men’s category, Som Bahadur Thami won with a time of 5 hours 50 minutes 59 seconds, while Sanjay Negi secured second place and Dnyaneshwar Naik finished third. In the 53 km women’s category, Summaya Limbu finished first, followed by Urmila Bane in second and Veena Tadsare in third. In the 25 km category, Raunak Shekhawat topped the men’s race and Samjna Rai won the women’s race. In the 11 km category, Tanay Kachare emerged victorious among men, while Surabhi Merukar claimed the women’s title.

Organised by the Western Ghats Running Foundation, the event featured special arrangements for runner safety, primary medical care and essential facilities. Winners were felicitated with idols of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and special mementoes. Foundation president Digvijay Jedge informed that the Western Ghats Running Foundation is a member of the International Trail Running Association, and runners who complete the SRTL Ultra Marathon earn qualifying points for the UTMB in France.

The route passing through the forts of Sinhagad, Rajgad, Torana and Lingana—historic witnesses to the valour of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his Mavalas—was once used for travel, trade and agriculture. Today, the marathon inspires people to take time out from busy lives to run for health and happiness, offering a unique blend of culture, history and fitness. The event is held annually with the cooperation of the Maharashtra State Archaeology Department, Forest Department, Tourism Department, Pune Police and the Pune District Collector’s Office.

For the successful organisation of the event, Foundation president Digvijay Jedhe, trustees Anil Pawar, Mahesh Malusare, Mandar Mate, Adv. Maruti Gole, Amar Dhumal, Adv. Rajesh Satpute, along with around 500 volunteers from Daund, Haveli, Rajgad, Mulshi, Shirur talukas and Pune city, worked tirelessly for 48 hours. The Athletes Training Programme was led by coach Yogesh Sanap with support from coaches Anant Kachare, Shyamal Mondal, Chaitanya Velhal and runner Anand Hatwalne. Renowned ultra-runner Taru Mateti and accomplished runner Padmaraj Doshi were invited as chief guests and flagged off the race at 6 a.m. from Golewadi.

The first official Team India concluded its maiden World Cup campaign securing a remarkable 25 medals (8 Gold, 8 Silver, 9 Bronze), finishing at Number 7 in the overall medals tally and emerging as the only Asian country in the top 10.

The IPA also extends its sincere thanks to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) and the Sports Authority of India (SAI) for their crucial support in making this historic international participation possible.

A special mention must be made of Suryaveersingh Bhullar, the President of the IPA and Captain of the Seniors Team, who truly led from the front and proved his mettle on the court. He partnered with the former Indian tennis veteran Nitten Kirrtane to clinch the Gold Medal in the highly competitive 50+ Men's Doubles (4.5) category.

The Roots Football Club women’s team was formed in the year 2020. The team qualified for the KWL in the year 2021 from A Division. We pride ourselves with having players from all walks of life, from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds. We have players from 7 states across India.

The Indian archery contingent faced an unexpected challenge ahead of the World Archery Youth Championships in Winnipeg, Canada, when sudden flight cancellations by Air Canada left athletes stranded and at risk of missing the event.

What could have been a devastating setback was turned around through the tireless, coordinated efforts of the Archery Association of India (AAI), which worked relentlessly to protect the aspirations of its young athletes.

A multi-solution approach was adopted—rebooking athletes on alternate connections and sending them in batches so that every possible route was covered. In parallel, urgent discussions were held with World Archery, securing special permission for Indian archers to compete despite arriving a day late, even though the rules normally require participation in official practice sessions.

"Our athletes represent the pride of India, and it was unthinkable to let them miss out because of reasons beyond their control. The entire association came together, worked with partners across borders, and ensured that India’s flag will fly high in Winnipeg," said Shri Arjun Munda, President, Archery Association of India.

Behind the scenes, officials worked around the clock—not only to move athletes across multiple routes, but also to initiate talks with Air Canada to recover the costs of the cancelled tickets. "This episode shows that sporting excellence requires strong institutional support. While our athletes focus on performance, we stood shoulder-to-shoulder with them, ensuring that no external obstacle could deny them their rightful place in the Championships," remarked Shri Virendra Sachdeva, Secretary General, Archery Association of India.

The logistical effort was made possible by seamless coordination within the federation. "It was inspiring to witness the way our team handled this crisis. I must especially commend Mr. Gunjan Abrol, Assistant Secretary, Archery Association of India, and his team for their tireless work and coordination that made this possible. Their persistence, even in the most difficult circumstances, has set a benchmark for professionalism within Indian sport," noted Mr. Joris Paulose, Treasurer, Archery Association of India.

Reflecting on the intense few days, Mr. Gunjan Abrol, Assistant Secretary, Archery Association of India, said: "This was a test of resilience and teamwork. From negotiating with airlines to working with World Archery for exemptions, every step mattered. Our single goal was to make sure our young athletes reached Winnipeg ready to compete—and I am proud that together, we achieved it."

Through these efforts, the Archery Association of India reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the interests and dreams of its athletes—ensuring that no challenge, however unexpected, can stand in the way of India’s archers on the world stage.

Naisha’s journey began at just 4½ years old, when she first stepped onto the rink with a pair of skates. Ranked AIR 6 with a 98.6% in her ICSE 10th Boards, she has consistently topped national and international math and science Olympiads, including the Gauss, Pascal, SEAMO, and Dr. Homi Bhabha competitions. From securing 1st rank out of 3,839 students in the IPM Scholarship Exam to placing 2nd out of over 30,000 in a national math talent test, her track record reflects consistency, intellect, and drive. She was also the 1st Runner-Up at the Pearl Padamsee Trophy for Excellence in Drama, proving her ability to excel across disciplines.

“Skating is where I find freedom,” says Naisha. “Winning gold for India was a dream I lived on that rink.” Her coach, Ms. Adesh Singh (Team India Coach and an International Judge), who has trained her for 13 years, added: “It was her moment, but it felt like ours too.”

Pune :  The internationally recognized Thriller “Sinhagad Epic Trail Marathon”, organized by the Western Ghats Running Foundation (WGRF), concluded with great energy, spirit, and participation at the historic Sinhagad Fort, a glorious symbol of Swarajya. Nilesh Kulaye and Pooja Krishnamurthy emerged as winners in the challenging 42 km full marathon category.

This unique mountain trail marathon is dedicated to the brave Mavalas (warriors) who sacrificed their lives for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s Swarajya, and is affiliated with the International Trail Running Association (ITRA) and is a UTMB Index Race. Every year, WGRF organizes this flagship event on the last Saturday of June.

Participants experienced a truly thrilling 11-hour journey, completing the course through five different historic trails of Sinhagad, encountering steep cliffs, dense valleys, muddy terrain, and breathtaking natural beauty. The marathon started and ended at Atkarwadi village at the foothills of Sinhagad. Beyond being a race, the event delivered a strong message on fitness, environmental protection, fort conservation, and heritage preservation.

This year’s event saw participation of 827 runners from 8 countries, 24 Indian states, and 45 cities, across four race categories: 11 km, 21 km, 30 km, and 42 km.

The Sinhagad Epic Trail Marathon has once again proven to be more than just a race – it is a moving tribute to history, a celebration of nature, and a powerful platform to inspire fitness, ecological awareness, and cultural pride.

Chandigarh [India], July 2: The groundbreaking PAR 3 MASTERS, India’s first-ever Pitch & Putt Golf Tournament Tour, wrapped up the first leg of its India journey with a spectacular finale at the iconic The Chandigarh Golf Club. This innovative format, built around short-game precision and strategy, began its tour in Panchkula and made stops at Oxford Golf Club (Pune), Jammu Tawi Golf Course, and Rambagh Golf Club (Jaipur), before culminating in Chandigarh.

The event marked a milestone in Indian golf, with over 250 golfers teeing off as early as 5:00 AM, undeterred by the hot and sultry weather. Participants included men, women, seniors, juniors, and special invitees—all united by their passion for the game. The unique Par 3 format, which limited players to just three clubs (including a putter), created a fast-paced, thrilling experience akin to the T20 format in cricket.

Club President Mr. Ravibir Singh expressed pride in hosting this tournament, stating, “It is indeed a pleasure for The Chandigarh Golf Club to host such an innovative tournament, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all participants. The response has been overwhelming, and this format truly brings a new dimension to the game. The club proposes hosting this on a more regular basis.”

EISB Athletes with their Medal Wins at Stairs Youth National Games, 2025

Bengaluru, May 26, 2025 : Students from EISB won 10 medals at the Stairs Youth National Games 2025 held in New Delhi from May 19 to 21. This was a momentous win for EISB as the prestigious event provided a national platform for the school’s young athletes to demonstrate their talent and compete against top-tier schools from across the country in a range of track and field events.

Kochi, May 15, 2025 : Kerala is set to host the 8th Ranking Open National Roller Skating Championship. The championship will be held from May 15 to 19 at the ASIADS International Speed Skating Academy, located near Nellimolam in Perumbavoor, Ernakulam district. This prestigious event is being jointly organized by the Kerala Roller Skating Association and the Ernakulam District Association, with the support of the Roller Skating Federation of India. Marking a significant milestone, Kerala is once again becoming the venue for a national roller skating championship after a gap of 33 years.

The championship will be officially inaugurated on May 16 by the Minister for Sports, V. Abdurahiman. The ceremony will also be attended by Perumbavoor MLA Eldhose Kunnappilly, officials from the Roller Skating Federation of India (RSFI), and representatives from the state association.

Approximately 2,000 roller skating athletes from various states across the country will compete in this championship. Participants up to the age of 12 will compete in the Cadets category, those aged 12 to 15 in the Sub-junior category, 15 to 18 in the Junior category, and those above 18 in the Senior category. Prominent skaters with international credentials are also expected to take part. Practice sessions for the participants will be held on May 13 and 14, ahead of the official competitions.

Kerala’s first-ever road circuit track, a 200-meter PU synthetic banked track (with curved sloped surface), is located at the ASIADS International Speed Skating Academy. The specialty of this track lies in its even surface, which allows for enhanced control and speed during skating, providing skaters with the perfect conditions for performance.

“Children from the new generation are showing great interest in roller skating. Kerala has reached sixth place in the national rankings. To progress further, support at the government level is essential. Championships like these offer an excellent platform for growth. In 2019, she trialed for the Indian team for the FIFA World Cup but remained undeterred despite not being selected. She later played in Bangalore’s Super Division and represented her state in multiple tournaments. Neha Mukati: From Hoshangabad, Madhya Pradesh, Neha Mukati discovered football in 6th grade and soon excelled. By 8th grade, she played for India’s U-14 team in Tajikistan. Mumbai : The seventh edition of the prestigious Sportstar Aces Awards was held in Mumbai at the Taj Mahal Palace on Friday with some of the biggest Indian sports personalities coming together under one roof. 

Athletes from an array of sports were honoured for their outstanding achievements both at the international and national level in what was a glamorous night for Indian sports. The grand event saw former Indian Hockey goalkeeper PR Sreejesh named the Sportstar of the Year (Male) and Paris Olympics double medallist Manu Bhaker honoured as the Sportstar of the Year (Female) and Sportswoman of the Year in an Olympic Sport (Female).

The Indian men’s and women’s chess teams, who created history by winning the Budapest Chess Olympiad last year, jointly won the National Team of the Year award. 

In addition to the Popular Awards, a total of 17 honours were given out on the night, including individual and team awards across various sports. Some of the winners included Jaspal Rana, who won the Coach of the Year honour, Swapnil Kusale and Sarabjot Singh who won Sportsman of the Year (Male, Olympic Sport) and PV Sindhu was awarded the Inspiration Icon Award. 

It was a big night for hockey as legendary players Gurbux Singh and Mary D'Souza Sequeira were given Lifetime Achievement Awards.

ICC Chair Jay Shah was honoured with the Special Recognition Game Changer Award for his remarkable rise in the administrative framework of the game. Shah, who has championed women’s cricket during his time as BCCI secretary, dedicated the award to all women working hard in their careers. 

Star shooter Manu Bhaker shared her appreciation upon winning the award and said, “ I'm extremely happy to receive this honour. This is all thanks to my father and my coach and of course my support staff. Previously, at the Aces, I had received the Emerging Athlete of the Year award so I am really honoured to receive such a prestigious award this time. I will try my best to work even harder in future and win more medals.”

On receiving the award, PR Sreejesh stated, “Thank you very much for this. It’s a bit hard for me to believe that I'm the chosen one, but it's a great recognition. I hope this is a great motivation for the youngsters because when I was a kid, we all dreamt about coming on the cover page of such an established magazine (Sportstar) so thank you very much for this.”

P.V. Sindhu too spoke on the rise of women in sports on the occasion and said, “ A lot of women out there are doing really well. I can see a lot of potential, especially in my sport (badminton). I believe there will be a lot of Olympic medalists very soon and I wish everyone all the best.”

The annual awards are a crucial part of the sports ecosystem in India and are an important platform for athletes achieving on the international stage. 

The esteemed jury of the awards was chaired by World Cup-winning cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar, Olympic gold medalist M. M. New Delhi : JS Institute of Design (JSID), a new-age design institute in New Delhi turned its campus into a creative playground from January 23rd to 25th as it hosted the Global Game Jam 2025, the world’s largest game creation event. Over the course of 48 hours, 57+ passionate jammers formed more than 10 teams, working together to bring 15 unique games to life. The event, which drew 60+ registrations, showcased the power of collaboration, creativity, and determination in the world of game design.  

Three standout creations emerged as winners in Delhi: Bubble of Life received the award for Best Theme Interpretation, Puck Puck Puck won for Best Gameplay, and Bablu Bhayankar was recognized for its exceptional art design. These games not only impressed the judges but also highlighted the immense talent of the local gaming community.

Prior to the flag-off, an energetic pre-race warm-up session, led by a DJ and Emcee, infused the crowd with energy, setting the tone for the day. New Delhi [India] : A chilly, misty morning at Panchkula Golf Club set the stage for a groundbreaking moment in Indian golf—the debut of the Pitch and Putt format. With a mission to make golf more accessible and exciting for people across the country, this new format also positions India as a rising star on the global golfing map.

The inaugural Par3 Masters tournament kicked off with an impressive turnout of 178 golfers, including club members and special invitees. Despite the 8-degree chill and the fog lingering over the course, the participants were eager and enthusiastic. The first group of 84 players embraced the challenge of the new format, where each hole was set to Par 3, and players were limited to just three clubs—including a putter.

As the morning progressed, the fog began to lift, and the sun finally broke through, bringing warmth and energy to the course. The entire 18-hole layout had been reimagined to accommodate the Pitch and Putt format, and the response from the golfers was overwhelmingly positive.

24 October 2024, New Delhi: PWR and NPL have today confirmed a partnership that establishes NPL as the exclusive and official tournament and league provider for the Oceania region in 2025. Through this partnership, NPL’s leagues and tournaments will now be part of the PWR structure, allowing NPL players to earn points towards their PWR ranking and assist in qualifying for the PWR World Series.

PWR is home to the newly created Pickleball World Rankings, along with the PWR World Tour and PWR World Series. As a unified global ranking system, PWR offers a clear path for pickleball players to earn ranking points by competing in regional events. Players accumulate points through the PWR World Tour and can qualify for the PWR World Series.

NPL, the leading pickleball organisation in Australia, runs the flagship Professional Teams League (NPL ProTour) and a professional tournament circuit. 

As PWR’s exclusive partner in Oceania, only NPL events—both league and tournaments—will award PWR ranking points in the region. This collaboration aims to unify regional bodies under one global structure, supporting the long-term growth and governance of pickleball.

The exact point structure for NPL Australia tournaments will be announced later in 2024, but all events will fall under PWR’s established categories: PWR50, PWR100, PWR200, PWR400, PWR700, PWR1000, and PWR2000.

With its successful track record and commitment to promoting martial arts, the tournament once again brought together Mumbai’s brightest talents. The competition showcased the prowess of 1,150 students representing more than 100 schools from across Mumbai in various Japanese Mixed Combat Sports disciplines.

The tournament’s grand finale featured captivating demonstrations by 13-time Guinness World Record holder Vispy Kharadi. Accompanying the legendary Vispy Kharadi were noted instructors, including Shihan Jatin Naik, Renshi Abhishek Thakkar, Renshi Vipul Suru, and others, who left the audience spellbound with a display of their martial arts skills.

The inaugural edition will get underway from March 2nd – March 9th, 2024. This unique initiative, that will feature 19 high-octane matches in Mumbai is a movement aimed at discovering, nurturing, and propelling cricketers from grassroots levels onto the international stage.

The Indian Street Premier League will feature six teams, each owned by franchises representing Mumbai (Maharashtra), Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana), Bengaluru (Karnataka), Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Kolkata (West Bengal), and Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir). These matches will be conducted within full-fledged stadiums, adding to the flair and grandeur for players and fans.

The league is spearheaded by a distinguished core committee featuring Adv. Ashish Shelar and Amol Kale. The Chief Mentor for the league is none other than cricketing legend Ravi Shastri, adding unparalleled expertise to the event. Formula E GEN3 car, Season 9

London (UK), Friday, October 20: Formula E yesterday announced races in India and China next year, the milestone tenth season of the world’s first electric motorsport, making it the only motorsport to stage events during 2024 across China, India and the USA.

Hyderabad and Shanghai were confirmed as host cities in Season 10 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship following approval at the FIA World Motor Sport Council meeting yesterday.

Formula E will race for the first time in Shanghai at the Shanghai International Circuit with a double-header of races on Saturday, 25 May and Sunday, 26 May 2024. The first-ever Formula E race was held in Beijing on 13 September 2014, with Sanya and Hong Kong also hosting a total of seven races in China to date, the most recent in March 2019. 

Hyderabad will host Formula E again on Saturday, 10 February 2024 with support from the Telangana Government and Minister K. T. Rama Rao and following the 31,000-capacity sold-out debut race in February this year. The event delivered an uplift of almost USD 84m to the Hyderabad economy**.

Formula E already made history with the Season 10 calendar when Tokyo was confirmed to host a race on Saturday, 30 March, the first time a motorsport world championship race will be held on the streets in the heart of the iconic Japanese capital.

Jaipur : As the first edition of SFA Championships, Jaipur, draws the curtains, the city celebrated indomitable spirit and passion of young athletes. The SFA Championships bought alive sporting brilliance like never before, bringing school sports to the centre stage. 

In a grand finale, Cambridge Court World School secured its position as the “number one school in sports” in Jaipur. Athletes from Cambridge Court World School clinched impressive podium wins with 25 gold, 24 silver, and 26 bronze medals, displaying unparalleled passion for sports. SFA Championships also discovered the Golden Girl and Golden Boy for the debut edition of Jaipur. Gunika Baid from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Vidyasharam and Kartik Jhingoria from Cambridge Court World School are athletes who displayed commendable performances in more than one sport.

Government Senior Secondary School, Bamori emerged victorious in the U-18 Boys category. Swimming was another highlight which featured fiercely contested races across the 50m freestyle and 100m freestyle events for Boys and Girls from U-8 to U-16 categories.

This year, SFA has pledged to encourage 2 Lakh athletes to play through 10 SFA Championships in a span of 4 months. The 36th National Games, Gujarat, 2022 and Khelo India Youth Games, Haryana, 2021 were powered by the SFA’s tech IP Games Management System (GMS). RJ Devanggana, an award-winning anchor and actor, was the official host for the Uttarakhand Premier League (UPL), the first cricket event of its kind in the state. The 10-day tournament featured players from Uttarakhand, including some who had previously played in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Devanggana interviewed several of the UPL players, including Akash Madhwal, Avneesh Sudha, Aditya tare, Kunal Chandela, Abhay Negi, and Rajan Kumar. She said that the evenings were full of fun and laughter, and that the players were all very spontaneous and up for any challenge she threw at them.

The UPL was played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Dehradun, where six home teams competed against each other. The tournament was organized by the Cricket Association Of Uttarakhand, the governing body of cricket in the state.

Devanggana is a well-known figure in the Indian entertainment industry. She has won numerous awards, including Miss India Brainy Beauty and MTV's reality show "Drive with Nano" season 3. She was recently named Radio Influencer of the Year and RJ of the Year 2023 (non-metro).

In a statement, Devanggana said that she was honored to be the host of the UPL. She said that it was a great opportunity to showcase the talent of the players from Uttarakhand and to promote the sport in the state.
